The Amendment Regarding Loan Disbursement Fees Chargeable to Commercial Clients

With the Communiqué (No. 2026/5) Amending the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles Regarding Fees That May Be Charged by Banks to Commercial Clients (No. 2020/4), published in the Official Gazette dated 31 January 2026 and numbered 33154, a significant distinction has been introduced concerning loan disbursement fees that banks may charge commercial clients.

Pursuant to the amendment, the limitations applicable to loan disbursement fees shall apply only to cash loans denominated in Turkish lira. For foreign currency-denominated cash loans (i.e., loans denominated in currencies other than TRY), banks shall be free to determine the amount of loan disbursement fees.

The Communiqué entered into force as of 1 February 2026.
