With the Communiqué on the Redetermination of the Minimum Equity Amounts of Payment and Electronic Money Institutions, published in the Official Gazette dated 31 January 2026 and numbered 33154, the minimum equity requirements applicable to payment institutions and electronic money institutions have been revised.
Accordingly:
- For payment institutions falling within the scope of subparagraph (e) of the first paragraph of Article 4 of the Regulation, the minimum equity amount has been set at TRY 20,000,000.
- For other payment institutions, excluding those under subparagraph (g), the minimum equity amount has been set at TRY 40,000,000.
- For electronic money institutions, the minimum equity amount has been set at TRY 105,000,000.
The Communiqué shall enter into force on 30 June 2026, and the relevant institutions are required to align their financial structures with the new amounts by that date.
